Hello, nice to meet you
I'm an instructional designer and learning strategist passionate about creating meaningful, engaging, and impactful learning experiences. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Aruba, I have always been deeply connected to the transformative power of learning.
At the age of 19, I moved to the United States to pursue higher education. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences with minors in Interpersonal Communication, Political Science, and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Central Florida. My interdisciplinary academic background has equipped me with a perceptive understanding of human behavior, communication, and culture—insights that are central to my approach to instructional design.
After returning to Aruba, I continued my academic journey by completing two master’s degrees online at Walden University: a Master of Science in General Psychology and a Master of Science in Instructional Design & Technology. This unique combination of psychology and learning design forms the foundation of my work, blending evidence-based educational practices with a human-centered approach.
I spent seven years as an instructional designer at the Instituto Pedagogico Arubano, where I collaborated with my colleagues to develop modules, workshops, and digital learning experiences. In addition, I served part-time with the Department of Education of Aruba, acting as the primary administrator of the Capacity Enhancement Project's online learning platform, Matrix, and the Land Aruba Academy platform, helping to support professional growth across the island’s educational sector.
Outside of my professional life, I am deeply grounded by the love for my family, friends, and my beloved cats, Yuki and Sunny. I enjoy hiking, traveling, reading, and am a lifelong learner at heart—always exploring new ideas, skills, and perspectives.
Whether designing a course, a workshop, or supporting (digital) learning initiatives, I bring a thoughtful, collaborative, and human-centered approach.
